THE GREAT INDIAN FANTASY

India is the land of achievements and accomplishments. Various phases from Primitive, Middle and Modern eras have been witnessed by our motherland. It has an international and multilingual society with wide variations in demographic situations and socio- economic conditions. In a nation that is dutifully and ethically diverse, commonly described as, “JUMBLE OF POSSIBILITIES, the people follow a wide variety of customs, and have varied beliefs that ultimately mould lifestyle and sexuality. The fertile soil of India comprises of various types of pre- historic mountain and cave paintings in Ajanta and Ellora(Maharashtra) and Khajuraho(Madhya Pradesh) temple- their sculptures describes that there is a difference in sexual practice in India. The architecture of Khajuraho depicts graphic sexual positions and leaves nothing to the imagination.

KAMASUTRA, one of the ancient Hindu literatures played a significant role in the history of sex during 1st and 6th century. It is considered to be the standard works on human sexual behavior. Vatsyayana, the author of Kamasutra (Aphorism of love) is a classic work that includes three pillars of Hindu religion, “Dharma, Artrha and Karma “respectively. The author suggested different ways to stimulate desire and performance of sexual happiness. He was innovative enough to come up with seven different ways of kissing, eight varities of touch, four methods of stroking the body and eight sounds that may be emitted during sex and foreplay in his book. The main theme appears to be expression of Indian attitude towards sex as central and natural component of Indian Psyche and life.
The fast-food generation, in twenty-first century is forgetting the art of love- lust in modern times. Teenagers are indulging in sexual activity at immature ages, say sex therapists and counselors.”  Sexologist, Dr Rajan Bhonsle, youngsters had first sexual experience, when they were as young as 11”.

During 1990’s, they wooed girls with Archie’s cards and balloons and lovebirds would enjoy the quality time together on Valentine’s Day listening to BACKSTREET BOY’S or watch movie together in theatres.

In this rat race of rapid growth of globalization, “Pumpkin norms and industrial desires are heading for success “. Indeed, It is the time of instant hook –ups; instant breakups, the time of tough love where a date means thrilling partying & commitment turns “Oh! Was that you pkka? No one is bothered if your friends are sleeping together, it’s all about discovering other sex first before thinking of commitments. Now a day’s, dating is done through casual sex, hook up mobile apps, friends with benefits(pros),open relationships, one night stands, social media sites, long distance relationships, sex-oral talks, party matchups, Pre- marital sex constitute many more kinds of sexual activity. In the Indian film industry, movies like Masaan and Hunterrr show that even the small towns of India origin are leading to change from sentimentality to sensuality.

The adult version of dark room can be seen at  wild parties or “PAGE THREE” as shown by Madhur Bhandarkar’s 2005 released movie, social gathering are superficial, shallow and engaging in pedophilia where alcohol is served and bars or pubs happen to have big celebrities or couples. Indian states that have high possibility of seduction exist in town like Jaipur, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa. These spaces are illicit and exist in a grey zone.

Urban culture has turned to upscale night clubs now. In the movie, Fashion (2008)  “,suggested that those who are part of the glamour world of 'wild' parties are only inches above depraved and will eventually find themselves in bed with black men”.

Whether men or women in the pleasure of having casual sex, Bedroom tricks remain sociological since time immemorial times. It has turned up to individual thrill quest. Sexual fantasies bring in the ecstasy, illicitness, newness and curiosity of sex within the non-committed relationship- a sex for sex sake. In the heterosexual casual sex, pleasure is turning out be ‘liberated modern’ subject. A focus where couples with sunshine glow click selfiees at bedhead and buy lingerie’s and underwear’s via mobile apps e- retailers. You, yes! You crooked duos think sex is important to any of the relationships. Pleasure is in the hunt for is the national pastime, such as Sunny Leone is the poster girl.
You know who you are, isn’t it?

In a 2016 survey done by India Today / MDRA, 75% of the respondents said that sex is very important in a relationship and 86% of people surveyed were satisfied with their sex life. This survey included 4042 respondents across 17 cities between 20 to 69 years of age.

In a recent survey done by India today and outlook magazine, the Indie -loving Indian circuit dwells in the list of most downloading uncensored sites like Ashley.com to fulfill their heart sensations. Being a typical Indian middle class mentality, we make faces at adult movies but watch porn stars and it is so shocking for me to announce that, “India is the 6th country that has sign-ins at infidelity sites and social sites like matrimonial and dating pages, like face book and LinkedIn, Google plus are following these behind and turning havocs. The future compatibility horoscopes are made through media sites and relationships are progressing through online chatting. The hypocritical society believe in love, lust and longing now
The couples with post – coital glows  talk about sex or see “Shakira” videos that shows her naked covered with sheets, we scream  chee-chee”but are ready to watch condoms add see condom adds when it comes to experience sex. They  buy lingerie via aaps like Masalatoys.com  to enhance their sexual assets.
No doubts, India is seriously moving and shaking under the sheets where desires clash in night and day and sex is with you, yeah you in your overstretched office hours and also at long commute with couples.

The sociology of sex is turning out to be pre- marital sex before taking the plunge. The kinship bond has lost its shine with live-in relationships acquiring the aura of how modern lovers should live life.
"Who is afraid of the virginity wolf?” It is the most cherished jewel of Indian culture. The women are characterized according to her virginity. Those who use first sexual experience as merely a forerunner to the joys of experience say sex is underwater for the couples now; men don’t bother if you are a virgin, and it’s that you are foreplay for the patriarchy.
The couples of Digital India have discovered lovemaking through whatsapp, Hike and Snap- chats, DM- ed. These apps offer privacy and plenitude; making conversations and communications as easy as the morning cup. Oral sex may be "against the order of nature." As per Section 377, men and women in India's hyperactive cities can't stop going down on each other. And rely on courtship gamming.
Because of hypocrisy and hyperventilation. It's nothing new now that modern people watch pornography and carry out extramarital affairs in their busy schedules. In this, and in a few more instances of being two-faced India, Delhi tops many a list (read the survey for the stats), which is unfortunate. Though, hardly unexpected.
Moderate stoned urban dwelling Indians will change the face of the world again in the upcoming decade .With the help of Kamasutra and erotic love, the lives of people are depending on contraceptive pills like SILDENAFIL and such other drugs.  We followed blindly the west cultures without understanding its norms, attitude and behavior. It has indeed become a necessity for every age group to be taught about the half baked information for the subject like sex. The attitude towards sex has become more open and mature in the changing times in love lust and longing figure especially. Thus, the mark of true urban cultural evolution admits that staying within the limits; you are tearing the rule book with your own hands.

ABDUL KALAM: ONE OF THE GREATEST PERSONALITIES OF INDIA.

Dr.APJ Kalam, The Bharat Ratna awardee, acknowledged as the father of India’s Missile Program, had a deep belief in building a better society and nation. The renowned scientist not only played a crucial role in the development of India’s first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III) in the year 1980 but also played a prominent role in preparing nuclear weapon test (Pokhran-2) in 1998.  He happened to be a recipient of the Von Braun Award from the National Space Society "for recognizing his excellence in management and leadership for a space-related project in the year 2013.
The man fondly called, Missile Man, was of the opinion that for India to be a prosperous nation, we need to work on nurturing its building blocks, the children. Dr. Kalaam felt comfortable in the company of young people and shared with them his experiences. He helped them to ignite their imagination and prepared them for the future through his lectures at various institutions of India. For this purpose he began, Billion Beats, an e-paper teaching youngsters the power to dream in achieving their goals.
Dr. Kalama’s infectious personality had not only inspired Indians but also people across the globe. His birthday has been declared as, “Worlds Students Day,” by US. In 2005, Switzerland declared 26 May as, “science day” to commemorate Kalam's visit in the country.
Being true to himself he kept doing what he loved, teaching; and took his last breath delivering a lecture in Shillong Institute in 2015. Acknowledging his efforts the United States of America put their flag half down as a mark of respect.

DELHI, DID IT REALLY WORK FOR THE SECOND TIME?

The second phase of odd –even scheme that, kick started on 15th April, 2016 lasted for a fortnight at Delhi. Mr. Kejriwal, conveyed awareness about the scheme to deal with pollution and traffic at various towns itself at national capital.
Compared to the first trial with the odd even scheme, not much had changed in terms of rules, guidelines, and exceptions. The only changes introduced were:-

1) Parents ferry children to school- In India, where there is road there is chaos.”You are driving down the magnificent highways of DelhiNCR in the morning to leave your child to school on time and get caught by traffic officers for not following the rule”, Parents have to suffer the big fat fine.   Looking into all this Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai admitted the government is yet to address the issue of children being picked up in cars after school ends for the day.
To end the sour minds, the irritation of parents, Delhi police presents you with flowers and chalans with a slogan,” be calm and be cool.”
2)Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) gauges the impact of the second phase of the odd-even plan on the capital's air quality at 119 locations in and around the city. Pollution varies with time and weather conditions that have nothing to do with the odd-even scheme. Looking at the tendency in pollution police estimated and monitored, different areas of Delhi NCR — reducing hourly particulate air pollution concentrations by 10-13 per cent.

3

3)       Contact the transport department at your workplace to avail a shuttle. If your workplace doesn't have such a provision, you need not worry since there is no dearth of shuttle service providers. A few names to help you get started: Shuttle, Ola, Orahi etc.

Last year, Thirteen-year-old Akshat Mittal came up with a rather innovative website called odd-even.com that helped people find carpool during the odd-even rule. The site, which was launched in December 2015, has now been bought by carpool site Orahi.
“The demand for taxis has  returned up on account of the odd-even traffic scheme that started on April 15 and ended April 30,Till now 30, 000 viewers has approached the sites help”  and it’s a big achievement since the launch of the website. Users who register on odd-even.com will be redirected to Orahi and they will be given the option to make online payments unlike the payment mode on odd-even.com. we are going to need carpooling more than ever and it’s actually the only sensible way to lesser traffic and pollution. Arun Bhati, chief executive officer of Orahi, told ‘The Economic Times’”
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal threatened "strict action" against over-charging cabs. The Delhi government directed the impounding of taxis charging excessive fare from the public. It also pledged to work with the Delhi government to provide reliable mobility solutions to people in the city, "especially at a time when the citizens need us the most.
It is hard to justify the odd-even rule on almost any ground. There’s not only a healthy conversation about pollution, quality and transport but also its failure most of the times. The city is paying, a high price for its new dining table conversations.

HELLO SAHAYAK!

“The world is my house,
The bus stand and the railway station is my professional hub,
 Come whenever you want,
 My name is Raju,
And with love people call me. Coolie no. 1.”
This is one of the famous dialogues of the actor Govinda. The iconic look that Amitabh Bachchan made famous in a movie by the same name, “Coolie” is set to change,
The age old uniform, that thick cotton red shirt, white pajamas, a shiny brass 'billa' on the arm and a gamcha up on the head, is going for a makeover .
Long time back, during the Victorian era, Indians were voluntarily enlisting to go abroad for work, in the hope of a better life. European merchants and businessmen quickly took advantage of this and began recruiting them for work as a cheap source of labour. The British began shipping Indians to colonies around the world and this is how the porter or the coolie jobs came into existence.
The Railway budget presented in the Lok Sabha on 25th February, 2016 declared that the porter will hereafter be called 'sahayak' (helper), "Naam mein kya rakha hai,” inserted a fellow collie.
Another alteration from the past, from now on they will also have the privilege of using luggage trolleys to ferry heavy weights across platform. And also learn the soft skills lessons in the offing.
The coolies at New Delhi Railway Station had gathered around a giant screen to watch the live telecast of the budget, “They are disappointed at losing their red shirts and, it  is Hanuman's colour, it gives us shakti (power)," says Bhanwar Singh, 33, who has been working as a coolie for seven years. His colleague Rahim adds that the red shirt marks them out clearly.
The porter is the fundamental part of the railways .The introduction of trolleys is definitely going to be welcome news for them! “It’s gonna take a longer route. Passengers will start missing their trains. Then don't blame us," says Bhanwar Singh.
Rather than theses superficial changes what they really desire is better pay not a new name, say the men in red. Their main demand is to bring porters under 'Group D' of rail services, put them at par with safai karamcharis, and entitle them to pension and healthcare benefits.
"I started from one rupee per trip and today its only Rs 60 for 40kg. The budget should address these, rather than superficial things like our shirts," echoes Rauf, one of the oldest porters at the station.
These ancient labours are believed to be real heroes carrying a lot of luggage at their backside. With the announcement of budget, the weight got less but the decision taken up by the railway minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu is still unsatisfactory.

NEERJA BHANOT- WOMAN WHO FOUGHT DEVILS TILL HER LAST BREATH.

“Never criticize anything too strongly that you yourself face trouble in accepting it in times of “NO OPTION."
“It's very strange that WE always wish to listen good for ourselves from others, but at the same time becomes tough for us to speak good for OTHERS.”
―
Neerja Bhanot
The movie”NEERJA” a complete paisa wasool has acquired four stars by the critics, This movie that hit the theatres on third week of February 2016, made me realize, the real life story of the Late Senior Flight attendant Neerja Bhanot on board who sacrificed her life in saving the passengers in the flight while facing the terrorists.
It was September 5, 1986. PAN AM flight 73 landed in Karachi at Pakistan that had arrived from Mumbai and, had nothing gone wrong, would have departed for Frankfurt and onward to New York City. The flight was carrying, among members of other nationalities, Indians, Germans, Americans, and Pakistanis. Unfortunately, the flight was hijacked while it was parked on the runway at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
Witness say it was four heavily-armed terrorists, dressed as airport security guards, entered the aircraft while firing shots from an automatic weapon and seized control of the plane.
Neerja Bhanot, A model and a flight attendant, who helped a number of passengers escape. She was murdered while shielding three children from terrorist fire, less than 25 hours before her 23rd birthday. After the terrorists boarded the plane, Neerja alerted the cockpit crew, who escaped through an overhead hatch in the cockpit. As the senior most crew member remaining on board, this left Neerja in charge. One of the terrorists asked the flight crew to collect and hand over the passports of all passengers on board Neerja, realized that the primary targets of the terrorists were American passengers, she hid their passports – even discarding some of them down the rubbish chute. From a total of 41 American passengers, only 2 were killed. After holding passengers and crew member’s hostage for 17 hours on the runway, the terrorists opened fire. Neerja stayed on the plane to help passengers escape. Even though she could have been the first to leave, she was shot while shielding three children from the bullets being fired by the terrorists.
Most of us will never find ourselves in a high-pressure situation, facing life or death the way Neerja did. True bravery emerges in the face of fear. We might never know what Neerja was thinking or feeling during those terrible hours of the hijacking, but we do know that she chose to respond to the actions of the terrorists with exceptional grace, courage, and grit. Of the 380 passengers and crew members on Flight 73, 20 were killed. While many others were injured, they did survive – in no small part due to the actions of a 22-year-old flight attendant who chose compassion over cowardice and performed her duty till the very end.
The Bhanot’s suffered an unbearable loss when they lost their only daughter. “Neerja was the ‘laado’ of the family, the youngest and most pampered.  Her  father had mentioned how, when she was born on September 7, 1962, the maternity ward matron here at Chandigarh hospital rang up to inform, it’s a girl. To her surprise, he gave her double thanks, for Neerja was a prayer answered after two sons,”recalls Aneesh, her brother.
While the movie was to be made, the director and the actress had met the family that mentioned, “Neerja was a very sensitive, deeply affectionate and an extremely decent and the prettiest person who believed in sharing with her people all her joys but not the jolts. She had well-defined principles and there was little room for compromise in that area.” She was a diehard Fan of Rajesh Khanna and the last conversation before boarding her flight she said, Puspa I hate tears rey, you will celebrate my birthday very peacefully. Love you ma.”
Despite their irreplaceable loss, her parents, Rama and Harish Bhanot, soldiered on, and even found a fitting way to honour Neerja’s memory. With the insurance money that they received after her death and an equal contribution from Pan Am, they set up the Neerja Bhanot Pan Am Trust. Through the Trust, they present two awards of Rs. 1, 50,000 every year - one to an Indian woman who faces social injustice but overcomes it and helps other women in similar situations, and one to honour an airline crew member who acts beyond the call of duty. There could hardly have been a better way to keep Neerja’s memory alive.
This year on January, 13 rewoned bharanatyam dancer Subhashini Vasanth, w/o Late Indian army martyr Col. Venugopal received  Neerja Bhanot award for her sevice towads creating a support system for the well being of the families of jawans died serving nation.
For her actions on the day of the hijacking, Neerja Bhanot was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime military decoration for the “most conspicuous bravery or some daring or pre-eminent valour or self-sacrifice,” and the Tamgha-e-Insaniyat, awarded by the Pakistan government for showing incredible kindness. She also posthumously received multiple awards for her courage from the United States government.
The movie needs applause, best watched if in mood of good cry.

“Some people don’t attend funeral not because they don’t want to but they are not emotionally strong to see anybody GO.”

ACUITY OF SOCIETY TOWARDS SUNNY LEONE?

Weeks back, Sunny Leone's promotional interview on CNN-IBN with Bhupendra Chaubey stirred a storm on the social media. Chaubey pointed questions centered on only one aspect, her past. However the vicious manner of inquisition was tackled by Sunny in a very sparkling and witty way.

It was deeply touching and highly electrifying interview of Sunny Leone, “Karenjit Kaur Vohra” aka Sunny Leone comes from a NRI typical Punjabi family born and brought up in a small village of Canada. She was working as a pediatric nurse; also she did a part time job in a tax consultant firm.  At the tender age of 19 yr she became a penthouse model gained fame and reached the apex of her business.
Though her parents were devastated when they came to know about her career and they had to bear all the grunts and grudges and were excommunicated by the extended family and society around.

It was her vibrant and loving personality which shone throughout the interview.. Sunny Leone came across as a confident and forthright individual who stood by her past and never repented about any of her actions.
The interview brought out the hypocrisy of Indian society. Bhupinder Chaubey with relentless insults, tried to rile her up; but kudos to her for not falling in the trap.
People blame her for spoiling Indian minds but these are the same people who lusciously enjoy her videos on their smart phones and laptops. Isn’t she the most viewed celebrity on the internet in India; how weird is that?
She herself admits that Pornography is just a fantasy, a crafted profession.
Thus," Don't judge a person by his profession instead start loving him as a human."

DISABILITY IS AN ABILITY

Just the other day, I was crossing the road to catch the mini bus when  I saw some beggars sitting outside the famous sweet shop ,” Palawan’s”  at my home town in Jammu and Kashmir.. The vision was a bit disturbing and they were the people who were disabled with different qualities. Seeing them struggling for survival itched me.
I say this because, a cousin, my age relates with a disease called “Dyslexia – a learning disorder which she suffered during my school days. But this disease did not stop me from doing anything hard.
A friend of mine suffers from Macrocephely due to hydrocephalus in brain, during her adolescent age she was treated as a very caring child but these things itched her within and made her fight to live a normal life, now she is working with an IT  company in Bangalore. People who didn’t know her well, she looked like any other person out there, bright and talented young women in her thirties now. She said, when people learn about her problem, they are shocked and look at her with different prospective.
To be compared to other individuals with disabilities is just insensitive since they are  able to relate to their struggle in life.
The struggles we face in life are challenging, But we do not see ourselves being limited by our disabilities. Instead, we have different abilities that play important roles within our communities and work environments. Though people doubt our abilities, we often prove them wrong about our capabilities.
There are people who doubt about the sufferers abilities. However, with positive thought they take these negative vibes into motivation and move ahead in life. They apply the motivation for self improvement.
During one of my visits to Pune command Hospital in the year 2006; I came through a pamphlet where famous personalities changed my outlook of life completely.
There are so many disabled persons contributing to society to change the world. So many scientists, actors, leaders, and the list goes on, they are fighting with disability and have overcome it, each and every moment they fight.
1} Socrates- who had Macrocephely issue, he was the father of English literature and philosophy.
2) Tennyson and Coleridge, the famous poets of William Wordsworth era had suffered Alzheimer- a memory loss issue that lasted for short period of time
3) Albert Einstein- He was a great physicist. He explained many physics theories for which he was awarded Nobel Prize. Einstein had learning disability and also physical disability.
4) Thomas Edison- He is one of the great scientists who invented bulb. Without bulb we could not imagine the world. Edison also invented phonograph. He had physical disability.
5) Mr. Walt Disney- The Mickey- Minnie mouse is a gift from Walt Disney. It is a world famous animated cartoon. He has also created a park called Disney land. He had learning disability.

Disability is natural. There are some critical problems when child is growing in mother’s womb it is not Childs mistake, we have to accept it. It may be called good luck or bad luck depending upon our thinking, on 3rd December, world celebrates disability day. In my opinion, it should be differently abled instead than disabled.
The Pune trip, brought a spark of,” I can do it” in me even if I am fine or disabled.

Accomplishing the achievement have put down a lot of doubts of people and allowed the disabled to make new friends in their professions in different ways. The feats have given them confidence to self educate and tell other disabled that they can achieve anything when you put your mind in it.
Guru,( his nickname) my graduation fried, a classmate, thank you for guiding me. It was he, who taught the world that everyone can learn from people with disabilities. He is an inspiration to many people including myself. I believe that if he had not come in my contact, I wouldn’t have understood life better, I wouldn’t be in the place that I am today, that I have really started giving help to disabled and my respect to them as a deed.
Make it a point that,” You have a different ability not a disability”. That different ability of you can make a difference wherever you will be in life. Right now, the different ability person is might be reading my columns and look life through holistically.
The youth of today is well educated. I conclude that we all have different abilities and we should use them for what we are truly passionate for in life. We all can make a difference in the world, no matter how little or big the difference is.
“Everyone is special.”
