DELHI: THE STREET FOOD CAPITAL

It’s relaxing to dig into polluted pani-puri. The spicy corn and bhel are so tempting. The kachooris, champe are simply mouth fillers
The siren call of the street food means for the modern urbanite to have a break, a smash from discipline of the fashionable life style. There is no letting go of street food. In its excess, it relaxes, anchors us in the moment. Biting into choola- bun, bhel- puri in the street across my various educational institutes in Indian continent has been the ultimate treats. I take pleasure in roadside dhabas more than five star restaurants from my puberty.
Even the dust and the noise are energizing. The vendor hands you a plate and you hand him penny with no bills and no cards to swipe. You can never be too old, too young, and too poor with no cast bar to enjoy it. Standing at the crowd with the weather effect, the hairs tousle the wind or some sweating in summer and your taste bud doing the mercy hop with multitude spices. So, it’s not surprising to see      S-class vehicles or scooters standing behind the row of street food vendors.
New Delhi is awash in good food. The aloo- chats in Connaught place. The historic and symbolic heart of the city, Old Delhi has street stalls and sweets shops dating back 70, 100, and 200 years, peddling the same popular delicacies now as then: spicy-tangy chaats (snacks), sugary jalebi, smoky mutton kebabs.
Chandni chowk in New Delhi that provides rich diversity in various cuisines like paranthe walli gaali whose moolchand paranthe waala is famous. If there is one thing that keeps the Delhi food scene ticking it’s the Street Food is chaat, one can find them at UPSC building,; Bittu Tikki Wala, Karol Bagh; Daulat Ki Chaat, Chandni Chowk; Natraj Dahi Bhalle Wala,  at Chandni Chowk. The most gratifying dishes on this planet is chicken tikka that is served in Havemore , pandara roadcooks there accidentally tossed the sauce consisting of butter, The rest is history.
While we Delhiites have a lot to be thankful for to the Mughals, Kebabs are one of them. Whether it is Kebabs being delivered to your car, a quintessentially Delhi experience food stalls , try this popular dish and you will be hooked forever. They are found in Alkakori Alkauser, R K Puram; Ustad Moinuddin Kebabs, Lal Kuan; Ghalib Kebab Corner. The original Kathi roll recipe was developed, but Delhi has its own delicious variants. From street stalls offering a variety of rolls, to supermarkets stocking up on frozen options and even the posh Delhi restaurants, Kathi rolls are a befitting food option for busy Delhiites on the go. can I try this dish? Nizam's, Connaught Place; Khan Chacha, Khan Market; Qureshi's Kebab Corner.
With the extensive variety of desserts offered in the capital, it is hard to say no. From the piping-hot Jalebis and lip-smacking Rabri Falooda, to innovative Kulfis in flavours like Custard Apple, Tamarind and Aam Papad, the delicious Motichoor Ladoo made from pure desi ghee and Blueberry Cheesecake; Delhi sure loves its sweets! Giani di Hatti, Chandni Chowk.
Making intelligent choices from brightly packed foods in stores and super markets, standing in line to pay, worrying about calories, eating by charts can be stressful and artifice the modern life. The more the doctors warning for the street stuff, the more charming it gets. Reaching at the pani- puri at the corner of the road is a rising factor.  Be in friends group, or lovebirds and married couples such companies make the taste of the food too exiting.
This scenario is not confined to a single city but these food destinations have sprouted all over the country be it-the paranthe waali gali in chandni chowk in Delhi,V Puram idlis and dosas in Benguluru, the tamatar chat in banaras, the veda pav in Mumbai thelas, the fafdas of gujrat, missal in kolapur, chappan in indore, not to forget the most delicious the kabab carts in lucknow. The owner sits cross legged, mixing the home made spices adroitly, adding flavors excessively, he is as creative as the star chefs of India and excel in their manacles.

DELHI BREEZES

A beer glass sits on a table at a pub. File photo.
Delhi Government is contemplating bringing down the legal drinking age  from the existing 25 to 21 years. The Excise Departments is preparing a proposal in this regard, Although the cabinet  is yet to provide the green signal for  25 is  the legal drinking age for hard liquor  like rum, gin , whiskey and vodka. with Beer and wine for 21 age people in the upcoming budget session. States like Goa, the age is 18 and Rajasthan is already 18 for the wine and beer and 21 for hard liquor.  Mumbai also has similar rule which allows those above 21 years old to buy and consume beer .
Surprisingly,Delhi   as a capital should be a leading the states. It is a positive move.If people can vote and get married at 18, that means youngsters can think themselves.. Time has changed, so the rules must also be changed.
Make everything Legal ,This way youngsters can go out and there is no point to sneak around in illegal joints.
If liquor is licensed its better and safe. The perception is that you need to drink more wine  and beer to  become  drunk to do something silly.
Alcohol  content is lower in the beer and wine , so its safe to relax the drinking age. .
In the place like Delhi, the capital state, the enforcement of drinking laws should be srickter and the fine .should be higher. Government, has to create safe environment ,  make students responsible for going higher intakes of beverages..
The Caro-bar  creates drunken driving. The present orders will ensure that the youngsters will have the safer  environment to drink rather than drinking in cars.
Students, now a days are consuming liquor in their college days, so why not make it legal which will benefit both consumer and authorities.

FANATICAL INDIA

As India grows in importance and economic power, it is becoming intolerant, Inflexible under Modi than it used to be under the Nehru- Gandhi’s. The numerous bans example- attack the writer, lynch the rape accused, and kill the rationalist, returns to your forefather’s religion, vandalize the church, add the Gita to the syllabus. The comman thread that runs through most of these eruptions is reactionary ideology, “Hindutva.” It is forbidden to watch BBC documentary on India’s Daughter, Fifty shades of Grey, It Is forbidden to use words like lesbians or Bombay in films. Etc.
In Murugans case, V.SubbaLakshmi, The Namakkal district revenue officer, brokered a deal between him and his thin skinned critics forcing him to withdraw his book announces his “writely death”.
According to Peter D’ Souza, professor at the Centre for the study of developing societies in Delhi, “The great of India lies in its several little pluralities. But over the last several months we seem to be moving from plural democracy to a majoritarian democracy.”
The brittleness with which the government has dealt with several issues, from ghar wapsi to re- imagining the educational system in the ideological prism of the Hindu right to littering the nation with a series of absurd prohibitions recently, has merited concern.
The bans have been an in escapable fact of life in the independent India.  Two processes are taking place at the same time: The liberal agenda are becoming more public and becoming countered by conservative agendas. A generational shift is taking place. The older conservative economy is being shaken up by new economies, giving rise to an emerging middle class who is quite conservative.
The social struggle inside India in the last nine months sends bad message to the potential investors. The numerous bans as well as the ghar wapsi programs are manifestations of those social controls being challenged.
The sharp reply by the Indian Government against the Manipur attack in Myanmar is a point that to be noted. India has been treated   as sitting ducks by foreign aggressors. It is point at hard to accept intolerance any more.
In our country competitive politics is transforming the idea of difference in the idea of adversary. In a period of change, these differences often get accentuated, ending up covering the adversary into an object of hate. As the thrash hold of the offense comes down, the right to offend and to be offended becomes an area of contestation.

LOVE A CANINE FOR WHO THEY ARE!

His eyes are marble sized, but the behavior is child like
He is champion’s blood line; a canine that outgrows his cuteness that past doesn’t matter
But future does.
I adore him by heart and behave the same when he plays along.
He is innocent when he desires for something, but loyalty is his nature.
I see him happy with himself when he faces off the peers.
The soul of him portrays his trust for me.
His actions describe his need for me
There are times when he farts and snores, and then he says,
“Love me, for who i am, because i love you for who you are,
Unconditionally and without expectations.”
Cheers Leo, my fighter Labrador.
